 U.S. Forest Service headquarters for Region 1 and training base for famous fire -fighting Smoke Jumpers. Photographs were taken during a graduation jump for t he class of 1955 trainees. There were 54 men in all. Smoke Jumpers jump three at a time on signal from spotter and jump master in the plane. For this exercise they must land near a marker on the ground. |
